On November 14, 2023, before the administrative session of the 11th/2566 meeting of Walailak University, Professor Dr. Sombat Thamrongthanyawong, acting university’s president, presented flower bouquets and certificates of congratulations to the faculty members and students who received national-level awards, namely the “Distinguished Teacher Award” for the fiscal year 2567 and those awarded with the UKPSF Fellow certificates. The ceremony took place at the Chorpradu Meeting Room, Jula Palace, Walailak University Medical Center. The individuals recognized include:
Students from the Civil Engineering program who received the Structural Steel Improvement for Young Engineers (SSI for Young Engineers 2022) grant from the national-level competition, Best of the Best Senior Project 2022:
Team 1 consisting of Miss Prapassorn Ritthikorn, Mr. Alongkorn Prachumrattanakorn, Mr. Thayakorn Bunkaew, and Mr. Adam Ja’ha, creators of the innovative project on improving the shear strength of concrete floor slabs reinforced with WU Snake Bars made from crushed concrete.
Team 2 comprised of Mr. Kongdej Buanoi, Mr. Muzilhi Sam, Miss Tipapaphon Thongdechna, and Mr. Wiwiladan Waeyuso, inventors of the Micro Pile Steel Pipe Reinforcement Innovation using composite material to enhance the sustainability of basic structures. Both teams were supervised by Associate Professor Dr. Tanongsak Imjai.
Associate Professor Dr. Nirandorn Matan and Mr. Taweesin Wongpradit received a patent titled “Improvement of Para Rubber Wood by Boiling in Hot Water.” This patent marks the second patent for Associate Professor Dr. Nirandorn Matan and Walailak University.
