On 7-8 July 2023, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tanongsak Imjai from the Civil Engineering Department and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Wattanapong Kerdthongmee from the Computer and Electronics Engineering Department, in collaboration with the Walailak University Science and Technology Park, received three awards at the STSP Innovation Awards 2023 at the Southern Science Park Administration Building in Songkhla Province.
The awards were given in the Commercial Aspect category, and the professors’ research projects were:
- 1st Runner-up Prize: Automatic Control System for Water, Fertilizer and Pesticide Management for Siam Pomelo Tubtim Garden with IoT Sensor Network, by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mullica Jaroensutasinee
- 2nd Runner-up Prize: Fabricated Composite Beam Innovation, by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tanongsak Imjai
- Honorable Mention: Automatic Rubber Wood Log Rotation Machine for Wood Axis Orientation, by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Wattanapong Kerdthongmee
The STSP Innovation Awards 2023 is an event that allows members of the Regional Science Park to showcase their outstanding performance in both innovative and commercial innovation categories. The winners of the awards will represent the Southern Regional Science Park Thailand at the RSP Innovation Awards 2023, which is the next contest at the national level.

About the STSP Innovation Awards
The STSP Innovation Awards are a biennial competition that is held by the Southern Science Park (STSP). The awards recognize outstanding innovation and commercialization efforts by members of the STSP. The awards are divided into two categories: Innovative Aspect and Commercial Aspect.
The Innovative Aspect category recognizes projects that demonstrate significant scientific or technological innovation. The Commercial Aspect category recognizes projects that have the potential to be commercialized and have a positive impact on the economy.
The STSP Innovation Awards are a valuable opportunity for members of the STSP to showcase their work and to receive recognition for their achievements. The awards also help to raise awareness of the STSP and its mission to promote innovation and economic development in the Southern region of Thailand.
