The School of Engineering and Technology, Walailak University, organized the 2nd Knowledge-Sharing Activity on the Preparation of the Readiness Review Report (RRR) under the ABET Framework. The activity aimed to review the guidelines for preparing the report, enhance readiness in terms of relevant data and supporting evidence, and build a shared understanding among faculty members and staff in developing academic programs in alignment with internationally recognized standards for engineering education.
This activity built upon the outcomes of the previous knowledge-sharing session, with an emphasis on encouraging faculty members and personnel involved in program management to jointly review the key components of the Readiness Review Report (RRR). Participants exchanged experiences, perspectives, and approaches to report preparation, while also reviewing essential information needed to demonstrate effective program management, teaching and learning processes, and the development of student learning outcomes in accordance with the ABET framework.
During the activity, participants shared ideas and experiences regarding the preparation of information and supporting evidence, the establishment of clear and systematic operational guidelines, and the development of a common understanding among the programs involved. These efforts are intended to ensure that the RRR accurately reflects the programs’ educational quality development processes and aligns with ABET requirements. Particular emphasis was placed on continuous improvement, assessment of student learning outcomes, and the systematic use of assessment results to enhance the quality of education.
ABET is an internationally recognized accreditation framework for quality assurance in engineering and related educational programs. Preparing for accreditation under the ABET framework is therefore not merely an exercise in compiling documents or reports for evaluation. It also provides an important opportunity for academic programs to systematically review their educational processes, ranging from the establishment of learning outcomes and the design and delivery of instruction to assessment methods and the use of assessment results for continuous program improvement. These processes contribute to ensuring that graduates possess the competencies required by the engineering profession and are well prepared to respond to the evolving needs of industry.
The 2nd ABET Readiness Review Report (RRR) Knowledge-Sharing Activity therefore represents another significant step for the School of Engineering and Technology, Walailak University, in strengthening educational quality and advancing its academic programs toward international standards. Through active participation, shared learning, and the exchange of experiences among faculty members and staff, the School continues to develop effective educational management systems and foster a strong culture of continuous quality improvement.
