On 7 August 2026, at the Academic Building, School of Engineering and Technology, Walailak University, the School of Engineering and Technology organized the “2nd Knowledge-Sharing Session on the Preparation of the Readiness Review Report (RRR) under the ABET Framework.” The activity provided an opportunity for faculty members and staff involved in academic program operations to jointly review the preparation process, organize relevant data and supporting evidence, and develop a shared understanding of how to enhance program quality in alignment with international standards for engineering education.
This activity built upon the previous knowledge-sharing session and focused on reviewing the key components of the Readiness Review Report (RRR), as well as the information and processes related to program management, teaching and learning, assessment of student learning outcomes, and continuous program improvement in accordance with the ABET framework.
During the session, faculty members and staff exchanged experiences, opinions, and operational approaches to ensure that each academic program develops a clear understanding of the requirements and is able to prepare information in a systematic manner. Particular attention was given to the completeness and consistency of supporting evidence, as well as to processes demonstrating that programs have appropriately defined educational goals and student learning outcomes, established clear assessment mechanisms, and used assessment results to continuously improve teaching and learning.
The knowledge-sharing session also helped strengthen a common understanding among personnel from different programs in preparing for quality assurance processes based on ABET standards. The ABET framework emphasizes not only the preparation of documents and evidence for evaluation, but also the establishment of effective academic processes that genuinely reflect the quality of education. These processes include curriculum design, teaching and learning management, student assessment, and systematic monitoring and improvement of learning outcomes.
ABET is an internationally recognized quality assurance framework, particularly for engineering and related disciplines. Preparing programs in accordance with this framework therefore represents an important step toward enhancing the quality of education and enables academic programs to systematically review and improve their own operations. It also supports the development of graduates with the knowledge, professional competencies, analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, teamwork skills, and other capabilities required by the engineering profession and industry in a rapidly changing environment.
The “2nd Knowledge-Sharing Session on the Preparation of the Readiness Review Report (RRR) under the ABET Framework” therefore marks another important step in advancing the educational quality of the School of Engineering and Technology. Through the active participation of faculty members and staff, the activity promoted collaborative learning, experience sharing, process review, and the development of more effective approaches to academic program improvement.
