From 8–12 April 2026, the Petrochemical and Polymer Engineering Program, School of Engineering and Technology, Walailak University, in collaboration with the Center of Excellence for Wood and Biomaterials, Walailak University, participated in an exhibition to showcase research, innovation, and academic achievements at the “Rubber and Agricultural Fair: Charm of Andaman.” The event was held at the 7th Cycle Anniversary Convention Center, Prince of Songkla University, Trang Campus.
The participation aimed to disseminate Walailak University’s academic and research achievements to the public and to promote the practical application of knowledge in industry, agriculture, and local communities. Particular emphasis was placed on the development of materials and products related to natural rubber, wood, biomaterials, polymers, and value-added agricultural resources, all of which are important to sustainable economic development based on local and biological resources.
At the exhibition, visitors had the opportunity to learn about research concepts, material innovation, and approaches for translating laboratory-based knowledge into practical applications. Faculty members, researchers, and university personnel also shared information and exchanged ideas with entrepreneurs, farmers, students, and members of the public who were interested in technologies and innovations related to rubber and biomaterials.
The exhibition reflected the important role of the Petrochemical and Polymer Engineering Program in integrating engineering knowledge with material and product development to meet the needs of modern industries. At the same time, the Center of Excellence for Wood and Biomaterials plays a significant role in advancing research and innovation in the efficient and sustainable use of biological resources, as well as in creating added value from agricultural and industrial materials.
Participation in the “Rubber and Agricultural Fair: Charm of Andaman” also provided an important platform for building networks and strengthening collaboration among academic institutions, industry, the agricultural sector, and local communities. The event encouraged the exchange of knowledge, experiences, and new ideas that may lead to further research development, innovation, and future cooperation.
This activity represents another important part of the mission of the School of Engineering and Technology, Walailak University, to apply knowledge, research, and innovation for the benefit of society and the economy. It also supports the development of highly capable engineering graduates and researchers who are prepared to respond to changes in industry, technology, and sustainability challenges.
Through participation in this exhibition, Walailak University continues to strengthen its role in promoting research utilization, innovation, and sustainable development, while contributing to the advancement of Thailand’s rubber, agricultural, and biomaterials sectors in the long term.
