On 1 April 2026, Walailak University, through the Cooperative Education and Career Development Center, hosted the 2026 Upper Southern Cooperative Education Excellence Competition at the Si Thammarat Meeting Room, 3rd Floor, Architecture and Design Building, Walailak University. The competition brought together students from nine universities in Southern Thailand and provided a platform for them to present their achievements, experiences, and innovative outcomes gained from cooperative education placements. Walailak University students achieved outstanding results, winning a total of six awards from the competition.
On this occasion, the School of Engineering and Technology, Walailak University, proudly congratulates two fourth-year students from the Computer Engineering and Artificial Intelligence Program who earned two First Runner-Up Awards. Their achievements reflect their ability to apply academic knowledge to real workplace challenges and to develop practical solutions and innovations that create value for their host organizations.
The award recipients were Mr. Jessadakorn Suwannakot, who received the First Runner-Up Award in the Science and Technology Category, and Mr. Chayanat Chaiyawan, who received the First Runner-Up Award in the Outstanding Innovation Category.
These achievements demonstrate the students’ ability to integrate knowledge in computer engineering, artificial intelligence, information technology, and systems development with real-world professional tasks. Their work also reflects strong analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, creativity, and the capacity to apply technology effectively in practical situations.
The Cooperative Education Excellence Competition serves as an important platform for students who have completed cooperative education placements to present the knowledge, experiences, and outcomes gained from working in professional environments. Participants are expected to explain their work processes, identify and analyze workplace challenges, demonstrate how academic knowledge was applied, and present the tangible results or benefits created for their host organizations.
The success of Mr. Jessadakorn Suwannakot in the Science and Technology Category highlights his ability to apply academic principles and technological skills in a systematic and effective manner. Meanwhile, the achievement of Mr. Chayanat Chaiyawan in the Outstanding Innovation Category reflects his creativity, innovative thinking, and ability to develop new approaches or solutions that can be applied in real work settings.
Beyond the awards themselves, cooperative education provides students with valuable opportunities to develop essential professional competencies, including analytical thinking, problem solving, communication, teamwork, responsibility, time management, adaptability, and an understanding of workplace systems and organizational culture. These experiences play an important role in preparing students for a smooth transition from university life to professional careers.
The awards received by the two students are therefore not only individual achievements, but also a source of pride for the Computer Engineering and Artificial Intelligence Program, the School of Engineering and Technology, and Walailak University. They also reflect the School’s commitment to connecting academic learning with practical workplace experience and preparing students with the knowledge and skills required by today’s professional and technological environments.
The School of Engineering and Technology, Walailak University, proudly congratulates Mr. Jessadakorn Suwannakot and Mr. Chayanat Chaiyawan on this remarkable achievement and encourages them to continue developing their knowledge, skills, and professional experience.
