PEP 2023 … “The Petrochemical and Polymer Relationship Activity” Held at ***Blue Crab Bank and Coastal Fisheries Learning Center ***

August 20, 2023  It is a project aimed at strengthening relationships among the freshmen, sophomore, junior and senior students including academics and faculty members in the program. This might be the last opportunity that all students and personnel of the Petrochemical and Polymer Program could meet face to face before the senior being on the practicing of cooperative education in the workplace in semester 2/2023.

This activity enhanced students to have a good sense of social contribution, volunteer mindset, and awareness of the marine natural resources. There were a variety of activities, including collecting garbage at the beach, Ban Nai Tung, releasing baby blue crabs into the natural habitat, and helping the campaign to refrain from buying egg-shelled crabs as well as student activities such as establishing the working teams, student bonding activities, and various recreational activities. Please note that our sophomore was the organizer for all mentioned activities. Bravo!!!

For the place established this event, Baan Nai Tung, Blue Crab Bank and Coastal Fisheries Learning Center, is located behind the Ban Nai Tung community fresh seafood market. This is regarded as a model community playing a role in restoring the ecosystem in the coastal area of Tha Sala. Consequently, the number of aquatic animal populations has increased as It was found that the amount of harvested aquatic animal has raised to about 15-30 kg per harvested trip from less than 10 kg per one.  Therefore, the stated activities, held by Petrochemicals and Polymer Program, directly supported the mission of the Blue Crab Bank and Coastal Fisheries Learning Center.
