On March 29, 2023, at 6:30 a.m., the Faculty and Staff of the School of Engineering and Technology participated in a merit-giving ceremony on the occasion of Walailak University’s 31st anniversary foundation day. Prof. Dr. Sombat Thamrongthanwong, Acting President of Walailak University, and Mr. Teerachai Shemanasiri, President of Walailak University Council, presided over the ceremony, which included offerings of rice and dry food to 31 monks, as well as Islamic dua ceremony and Christian blessing prayers for the administrators, staff, and students, wishing them good fortune on the occasion of the university’s 31st anniversary. Guests such as Rachan Sangmek – Chief Judge of the Nakhon Si Thammarat Provincial Civil Court, Suwat Thongbai – Deputy Chief of Staff of the 4th Army Region Colonel, Thammarat Ongplakorn – Chief of Staff of the 41st Army Province Police Colonel, and Pruittipong Promtem – Provincial Police Commander, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province, along with administrators, staff, and students of Walailak University attended the ceremony in large numbers at Ploenta Square, Thaiburi Building.
Later, the ceremony continued in the main auditorium of Thaiburi Building, where Prof. Dr. Sombat Thamrongthanwong, Acting President, summarized the university’s performance in the past year, and Mr. Teerachai Chemanasiri, President of the University Council, delivered a speech on the occasion of Walailak University’s 31st founding year. This was followed by the bestowal of royal insignia at below the sash level and awards to university staff by Mr. Teerachai Shemanasiri, President of the University Council. A total of 100 Walailak University staff received the royal insignia at below the sash level, and 85 staff received the award of honoring for their continuous service of 25 years. Additionally, 6 individuals received outstanding alumni awards in various fields from Prof. Dr. Sombat Thamrongthanwong, Acting President of Walailak University.
