Faculty members of the School of Engineering and Technology Participated for the wood science and engineering research presentation at Conservation Carpentry Fair (CCF 2023)

February 9-12, 2023, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pannipa Chaowana and Asst. Prof. Dr. Satjapan Leelatanon, researchers from the Center of Excellence in Wood and Biomaterials, and lecturers at the School of Engineering and Technology Walailak University have participated in the Conservation Carpentry Fair (CCF 2003) held at Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi. (RMUTT. Thanyaburi) as invited lecturers in the topic of Wood science and innovation, and Design of Connections in Timber Structures. In addition, the Center of Excellence in Wood and Biomaterials which has been invited as a Quest Organization presented many interesting research at the conference venue covering wood science and engineering topic including rapid drying techniques for oil palm wood without cracking and collapsing, lightweight wood sandwich using rubber wood surface and oil palm wood or natural rubber foam core, techniques for rubber wood characterization.

The CCF 2023 was organized by the Faculty of Architecture, Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi in collaboration with educational organizations of United Nations Science and Culture (UNESCO) with the support from SCG Foundation. The purpose of this conference is to create a space for exchanging knowledge and skills for the conservative architects, promote both traditional craftsmanship wisdom and appropriate use of modern technology through materials, tools, and methods according to their working areas in Asia.  Besides the academic research presentations, there is also a special program of lectures and discussions on various interesting topics such as who is a conservationist in the digital era? how does a conservation project win a UNESCO award? future direction of the conservative profession, wood innovation in the aspects of craftsmen, supervisors, architects, and engineering. Additionally, the academic research by the Center of Excellence in Wood and Biomaterials have gained a lot of attention from visitors throughout the exhibition period.
