On 24 August 2026, the Electrical Engineering Program, School of Engineering and Technology, Walailak University, organized a hands-on workshop entitled “Electrical System Drawing” for fourth-year students. The activity aimed to strengthen students’ professional knowledge and practical skills while preparing them for their upcoming cooperative education placements in real workplaces.
The workshop focused on reviewing and developing essential skills related to electrical system drawing, which is a key competency for electrical engineering professionals. Students learned how to apply theoretical knowledge to practical tasks, including reading and interpreting drawings, preparing electrical system layouts, understanding system configurations, and recognizing relevant technical details and standards used in professional electrical engineering work.
A special highlight of the workshop was the participation of an alumnus of the Electrical Engineering Program at Walailak University, who returned as a guest speaker to share professional knowledge, workplace experience, and practical techniques with current students. This provided participants with valuable insights beyond the classroom and allowed them to better understand how academic knowledge is applied in real engineering environments.
In addition to technical skills, the workshop also helped students prepare for cooperative education in terms of confidence, workplace adaptation, communication, and collaboration with professionals in organizations. Learning directly from an alumnus who had previously studied in the same program and successfully entered the profession also created an opportunity to inspire students and strengthen connections between senior and junior members of the Electrical Engineering community.
The Electrical Engineering Program at Walailak University places strong emphasis on developing students with a balanced combination of academic knowledge, practical competencies, and readiness for professional careers. This workshop was therefore an important part of preparing students to effectively apply their knowledge during cooperative education, gain meaningful workplace experience, and continue developing themselves toward becoming competent and professional electrical engineers in the future.
