On June 20, 2026, the School of Engineering and Technology, Walailak University, organized the “Engineering Freshmen Welcoming Activity 2026” at the School of Engineering and Technology. The activity was held to warmly welcome new students into the engineering and technology community while promoting friendship, unity, and adjustment to university life.
The atmosphere throughout the event was filled with laughter, smiles, and memorable moments as new students participated in activities alongside friends from various academic programs within the School. The event provided students with an opportunity to become better acquainted with both classmates from their own programs and students from other disciplines. This marked an important beginning in building personal connections and support networks within the university.
The activity emphasized constructive participation, teamwork, and mutual support. Through a variety of engaging activities conducted in a friendly and relaxed environment, new students had opportunities to practise communication, planning, task allocation, cooperation, and joint problem-solving. These experiences helped strengthen their confidence, reduce anxiety associated with entering a new environment, and develop a sense of belonging within the School of Engineering and Technology.
In addition to creating enjoyment, the event introduced students to important aspects of university life, including adapting to a new environment, living and working with others, respecting individual differences, maintaining discipline, and taking responsibility for themselves and the wider community. These qualities are essential foundations for successful study and personal development at the higher education level.
Participating in group activities also helped cultivate unity, kindness, and friendship among the students. They learned that success in engineering and technology does not depend solely on individual knowledge or ability. It also requires cooperation, active listening, effective communication, and the ability to work successfully as part of a team.
The “Engineering Freshmen Welcoming Activity 2026” was therefore more than a reception for new students. It served as a valuable space for learning, relationship-building, and personal development, enabling students to begin university life with happiness, confidence, and a strong sense of belonging to an academic community.
The smiles, laughter, and encouragement shared throughout the event reflected the positive energy of a new generation of students who are ready to learn, develop their potential, and grow together. The activity also encouraged students to support one another as they prepare to face academic challenges and new experiences throughout their university journey.
The School of Engineering and Technology, Walailak University, places great importance on the well-rounded development of students in academic knowledge, professional skills, ethical values, responsibility, teamwork, and the ability to live and work harmoniously with others. This activity was therefore an important part of preparing new students to adjust effectively and begin their university education with confidence.
The School of Engineering and Technology would like to express its sincere appreciation to the faculty members, staff, senior students, and all participants who contributed to the success of the event and helped create an atmosphere of friendship, warmth, and lasting impressions.
The School officially welcomes all new students into the engineering and technology family and hopes that the “Engineering Freshmen Welcoming Activity 2026” will mark the beginning of meaningful friendships, valuable memories, and inspiration for continued learning. May all new students enjoy their studies, student activities, and university life throughout their educational journey at Walailak University.
