Walailak University Chemical and Pharmaceutical Engineering Student Joins Team AVAKH to Win First Runner-Up at Research to Market (R2M) 2026

On 18 June 2026 at Walailak University, a student from the Chemical and Pharmaceutical Engineering Program, School of Engineering and Technology, Walailak University, demonstrated outstanding potential at the University-Level Research to Market (R2M) 2026 Competition. Ms. Weerawan Adam, a Chemical and Pharmaceutical Engineering student and member of Team AVAKH, earned the First Runner-Up Award in the competition.

Research to Market (R2M) provides students with opportunities to transform knowledge, research, and innovation into viable business concepts. The competition also enables participants to strengthen their skills in evaluating the potential of research outputs, developing business plans, and presenting ideas that respond effectively to market needs.

Team AVAKH was formed through interdisciplinary collaboration among students from several schools at Walailak University. The team consisted of Ms. Weerawan Adam from the Chemical and Pharmaceutical Engineering Program, School of Engineering and Technology; Ms. Afeeya Bula, Ms. Wanatchaporn Waiyawanajit, and Ms. Setthasiri Khunboonchan from the School of Management; and Mr. Nattawut Adam from the School of Science.

The interdisciplinary nature of the team allowed its members to integrate knowledge from various fields, including engineering, science, and management. This collaboration supported the development of research and innovation concepts with greater potential for practical application and commercial utilization.

For Chemical and Pharmaceutical Engineering students, participation in the Research to Market competition represents an important opportunity to apply knowledge of engineering processes, product development, data analysis, and scientific principles in combination with a business perspective. The experience enables students to recognize that innovation development does not end with the creation of a product or technology. Successful innovation must also take into account user needs, market feasibility, production costs, product value, and practical implementation.

The achievement of Ms. Weerawan Adam and Team AVAKH reflects the students’ ability to connect classroom knowledge with innovation development and business planning processes. The competition also strengthened essential professional skills, including analytical thinking, problem-solving, communication, teamwork, and the ability to present ideas effectively before a panel of judges.

The Chemical and Pharmaceutical Engineering Program, School of Engineering and Technology, Walailak University, extends its sincere congratulations to Ms. Weerawan Adam and all members of Team AVAKH on receiving the First Runner-Up Award at the University-Level Research to Market (R2M) 2026 Competition. The program hopes that the students will build upon the knowledge and experience gained from this competition to further develop innovative ideas and create meaningful contributions to industry, the economy, and society.
