On September 4, 2026, students from the Civil Engineering Program, School of Engineering and Technology, Walailak University, participated in an educational site visit to Siam Master Co., Ltd. as part of the Civil Engineering Materials course for the 2026 academic year. The activity aimed to provide students with direct exposure to the production of construction materials and precast concrete components, while helping them connect theoretical knowledge gained in the classroom with real industrial practices.
During the visit, students learned about the precast concrete production process, including the preparation and selection of raw materials, concrete mixing, quality control, molding and forming processes, curing, and inspection procedures before the finished products are delivered for actual use. The visit also provided students with an overview of factory operations, production planning, quality management, and other processes related to the construction materials industry.
This hands-on learning experience allowed students to better understand how concepts studied in the Civil Engineering Materials course are applied in professional civil engineering practice, particularly in the areas of construction materials and concrete technology. These areas are fundamental to the design, construction, and quality control of civil engineering structures.
In addition to strengthening academic knowledge, the site visit gave students an opportunity to observe real working environments in the industrial sector. They were able to see systematic production processes, workplace organization, quality assurance procedures, and safety practices, all of which are important components of professional engineering work.
The activity reflects the Civil Engineering Program’s commitment to integrating theoretical learning with practical experience. By encouraging students to learn directly from real industrial settings, the program aims to develop their analytical thinking, observation skills, ability to apply engineering knowledge, and understanding of professional standards.
The visit to Siam Master Co., Ltd. therefore served as an important learning experience for Walailak University civil engineering students, helping them strengthen their knowledge, practical understanding, and professional perspective as they prepare for future internships, cooperative education, and careers in the civil engineering profession.
