The School of Engineering and Technology, Walailak University (SET Walailak), continues to strengthen its role in promoting sustainable engineering at the international level through the “Winter Course & Green Tourism” program, held from 17–20 April 2026. The program welcomed 11 exchange students from Tashkent University of Information Technologies (TUIT), Uzbekistan, for an intensive academic and cultural learning experience.
The program focused on integrating Data Engineering with sustainability concepts under the theme “Engineering the Green Journey: Python for Sustainability.” Participants engaged in both theoretical and hands-on learning activities covering key topics such as Python programming for environmental data analysis, carbon footprint assessment of tourism activities, and the development of practical strategies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in support of Net-Zero goals.
In addition, students participated in a field study visit to Krabi Province, where they explored eco-tourism management practices and sustainable area development approaches. This experience provided valuable insights into how engineering solutions can be applied to address environmental and community challenges in real-world contexts.
This initiative reflects the School’s commitment to expanding international academic collaboration while fostering sustainability-minded engineers who are prepared to contribute to global efforts in reducing greenhouse gas emissions and achieving a more sustainable future.
🎉 Congratulations to all 11 TUIT students on successfully completing the program!
