School of Engineering and Technology discussed cooperation with Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM), Malaysia to collaboratively develop new approaches for teaching, learning, and research.

On 11 February 2020, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Suratsavadee Koonlaboon Korkua, Dean of School of Engineering and Technology and academic staff gave a warm welcome to Prof. Dr. Ismail Abdul Rahman Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic and International) and senior executives, delegates from Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM), Malaysia. The meeting has a purpose to develop a fruitful and mutually beneficial collaboration between both parties. After a fruitful discussion, the two universities have agreed with possibilities on academic collaborations may include, but not limited to:

  • Co-operation on new or existing academic programs, especially the development of a teaching model in subjects that can provide learning and teaching using Massive Open Online Courseware (MOOC). Improving the course should comply with the Washington Accord criteria which will result in the educational systems of both universities to be accepted internationally;
  • The development of joint research activities, faculty members and graduate students from WU can collaborate in research with the UTHM academic staff. In this vein, faculty members and graduate students from both institutions can be co-authors for publications in the engineering-related fields;
  • Staff exchange or mutual visits to both institutions in terms of Visiting Professor; and
  • The arrangement for student exchanges with UTHM.  The students can go to cooperative education at UTHM, in which they conduct researches at the Research Excellent Center under supervision of faculty members of UTHM.
