On 27 June 2026, at Thaiburi Building, Walailak University, the Electrical Engineering Program, School of Engineering and Technology, Walailak University, organized a welcoming and relationship-building activity for the 69th cohort of new students. The event aimed to help new students become familiar with the program, strengthen relationships between senior and junior students, and create a warm and supportive atmosphere that would help freshmen feel confident and officially become part of the Electrical Engineering family.
The activity began with a headscarf presentation ceremony for the new students. The headscarf served as a symbol of their welcome into the Electrical Engineering family. Beyond marking the beginning of their student life within the program, it also represented unity, solidarity, and pride in being a member of the EEE community.
Following the welcoming ceremony, students participated in a series of orientation and relationship-building activities designed to provide opportunities for senior and junior students to get to know one another through creative, enjoyable, and friendly experiences. The atmosphere was filled with smiles, laughter, and cooperation among students from all year levels. These activities helped reduce the gap between different cohorts and laid a strong foundation for positive relationships in both academic life and future student activities.
In the evening, students from all year levels gathered for a shared meal, giving them an opportunity to talk, exchange experiences, and build stronger connections. Senior students shared advice on studying, adapting to university life, managing time, and balancing academic responsibilities with extracurricular activities. These insights were intended to help the new students prepare for the transition to university life and face future challenges with greater confidence.
The event continued with creative performances by students from each year level. Each performance brought energy, enjoyment, and laughter to the gathering while showcasing the students’ creativity, talents, teamwork, and commitment to making the event memorable for everyone involved.
Another significant part of the activity was the reveal of the senior–junior mentoring lines, followed by a traditional welcoming ceremony for the 69th cohort. This moment represented the passing on of care, support, and friendship from senior students to their juniors. The new students were warmly welcomed into the Electrical Engineering family and received encouragement from senior students as they began their academic and personal journey at Walailak University.
The event concluded with a memorable candle-light formation of the letters “EEE69”, created by third-year students. The collective glow of the candles symbolized hope, unity, friendship, and inspiration passed from senior students to the new cohort, encouraging them to move forward on their Electrical Engineering journey with determination and pride.
The activity provided much more than enjoyment and memorable moments. It played an important role in strengthening relationships among students from different year levels, promoting mutual support and care, and creating a warm sense of community within the Electrical Engineering Program.
