On Monday, 2 February 2026, the School of Engineering and Technology, Walailak University, organized a special lecture to enhance engineering students’ knowledge and broaden their professional perspectives. The School was honored to welcome representatives from Thai Shimizu Co., Ltd., one of Thailand’s leading construction companies and part of Shimizu Corporation, Japan, to share professional knowledge, practical experience, and insights from the construction industry with students.
The lecture focused on technologies and innovations that currently play important roles in the construction industry, as well as emerging trends that are expected to shape the future of engineering and construction. The session provided students with a clearer understanding of how engineering knowledge is applied in real projects and highlighted the connections among design, project management, modern technologies, and construction processes that require collaboration among engineers from various disciplines.
The speakers also shared valuable experience regarding the roles and responsibilities of contractors in the construction industry, ranging from project planning and management to quality control, time and resource management, and coordination with professionals from different fields. Students from the Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Mechanical and Robotics Engineering Programs participated in the lecture.
