Overview of the Program

The Master Program in Engineering consists of five research fields including Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Computer Engineering and Intelligent Systems, and Material Engineering. The Program equips students with a profound understanding of engineering and technology as well as skills that are highly applicable. The program is closely connected to the industries closed to Walailak University, attracting students who want to pursue a career in research and industry.

Objectives

  1. The program aims to produce MEng graduates with high expertise in engineering. Graduates are able to carry out their own research by integrating appropriate knowledge from various fields. Graduates have adaptive and creative mind to create innovative ideas and products to deal with the changing world. Graduates are able to appropriately apply the basic knowledge for an advancement of Thailand in the field of engineering.
  2. The program enhances academic capability of the School of Engineering and Technology, Walailak University with emphasis on applying the knowledge and expertise to communities and industries.
  3. The program provides suitable environment for graduates to successfully carry out frontier research and publish their works in the well-known international journals in engineering.

Program Structure

Thesis presentation and report will be performed in English under curriculum type A1 and A2 formats. Overall, the Master’s Program in Engineering comprises a total of 36 ECTS credits. The two-year program of type A1 and A2 consists of:

  1. Electrical Engineering (Automation, Wireless, Sensor & Embedded system)
  2. Civil Engineering (Concrete, Geotechnics, Infrastructures & Water resources)
  3. Chemical Engineering (Catalyst, Bioenergy & Air pollution)
  4. Computer Engineering and Intelligent Systems (Algorithms, Mobile, Network)
  5. Material Engineering (Bio-polymer, Energy storage & Lignocellulose material)

Requirement for Application

Applicants must hold relevant a Bachelor Degree or a corresponding a Bachelor Degree and grade qualifications, or at least having work experience in research, with approval depended upon the consent of the curriculum administrative committee.

Language Proficiency Requirement

Applicants from a country where English is not the first language must enclose English Proficiency test result. The result must not be more than two years. The following English Proficiency tests are accepted for graduate admission, and a minimum score should be as follow: TOEFL ITP 450 or TOEFL CBT 153 or TOEFL IBT 45 or IELTS 5 or WU-TEP 63 or CEFR B1.

Tuition Fee and Funding

International student: 142,500 Thai Baht/semester
Thai student: 105,000 Thai Baht/semester

All received applications will be assessed and ranked against the eligible criteria for the available quota by the program committee. Outcome will be circulated after the selection process is finalized.

Graduation Criteria

The thesis work or its part must be presented at a national or international academic conference (or symposium)
