October 9, 2026

The School of Engineering and Technology, Walailak University, proudly congratulates its 14 faculty members on being recognized among the World’s Top 1000 Scholars 2026 by Scholarly Index. This international ranking recognizes researchers based on their academic achievements, research contributions, and scholarly impact within their respective fields of expertise, reflecting the School’s research excellence and academic capabilities at the international level.

The World Top 1000 Scholars 2026 rankings were released in 2026 by Scholarly Index, a research ranking platform that evaluates scholars based on scientific publications, citation records, and indicators of academic influence. The ranking system classifies research disciplines into 20 major fields, 305 subfields, and 4,516 research topics, allowing researchers to be evaluated and compared within their respective areas of specialization.

Scholarly Index employs a multidimensional assessment framework that considers several indicators, including field-normalized research impact, citation influence, H-index, D-index, leadership contributions to research publications, and research productivity. These indicators are combined into an Impact Score to assess researchers’ academic contributions and determine their rankings within specific disciplines.

The evaluation covers two distinct periods: Lifetime, which reflects a researcher’s overall academic influence throughout their career, and 2021–2025, which focuses on research achievements and citation impact during the most recent five-year assessment period. This approach provides a broader perspective on both long-term scholarly accomplishments and recent research performance.

The recognition of 14 faculty members from Walailak University’s School of Engineering and Technology represents a significant achievement and a source of institutional pride. It highlights their continued dedication to producing high-quality research, advancing scientific knowledge, developing innovative technologies, and addressing challenges relevant to industry, society, and national development.

This accomplishment also underscores the School’s commitment to fostering a strong research environment through continuous academic development, international research collaborations, and the publication of research findings in internationally recognized academic journals. Furthermore, the integration of research outcomes into teaching and learning activities helps strengthen engineering education and equips students with the knowledge, practical skills, and technological competencies necessary to respond to rapidly evolving global challenges.

Importantly, the World Top 1000 Scholars 2026 rankings recognize researchers within their specific fields of expertise rather than providing a single overall ranking across all academic disciplines. The recognition therefore serves as an indicator of the researchers’ scholarly influence and contributions to the advancement of knowledge within their respective research areas.

The School of Engineering and Technology, Walailak University, extends its sincere congratulations to all 14 faculty members on this outstanding achievement. The School remains committed to supporting research excellence, promoting technological innovation, strengthening international academic collaborations, and enhancing the University’s reputation within the global academic community.

This recognition further reinforces Walailak University’s dedication to advancing research and innovation that contribute to sustainable development, economic progress, and meaningful benefits for society.
