On Friday, 17 July 2026, at Walailak University, the School of Engineering and Technology, Walailak University, led a team of faculty members, staff, and students from six academic programs to participate in the “Get to Know TCAS70 First with Walailak University” activity. The event aimed to provide Grade 12 students and prospective university applicants with an opportunity to explore academic programs, learn more about the School, and prepare for university admission for the 2027 academic year.
At the event, the School of Engineering and Technology showcased all six of its academic programs, including Electrical Engineering, Mechanical and Robotics Engineering, Chemical and Pharmaceutical Engineering, Petrochemical and Polymer Engineering, Computer Engineering and Artificial Intelligence, and Civil Engineering. Faculty members, staff, and students from each program provided information about teaching and learning approaches, program highlights, skill development, career opportunities, and potential professional pathways after graduation.
Participating students also had the opportunity to meet and speak directly with faculty members and current students. They were able to ask questions about course content, practical classes, the use of engineering tools and equipment, project-based learning, cooperative education, as well as the overall learning environment and student life at Walailak University. These conversations allowed prospective students to gain first-hand information and experiences that could help them make informed decisions about choosing a field of study that best matches their interests and abilities.
In addition, each academic program presented student projects, engineering equipment, and demonstration activities, giving participants the chance to experience engineering and technology in a more interactive way. These activities helped students better understand how engineering education integrates theoretical knowledge with hands-on practice, while also demonstrating the important roles that engineers play in economic, industrial, technological, and social development.
The atmosphere at the School of Engineering and Technology’s booths was lively and engaging, with strong interest from Grade 12 students who are currently exploring their academic interests and planning their future educational pathways. The activity served not only as a platform for sharing information about academic programs and admission procedures, but also as a space to inspire young people to recognize the importance of engineering and technology professions in driving national development.
From the development of technology and energy systems, the design and control of machinery and robotics, chemical and industrial process development, petrochemical materials and products, computer systems and artificial intelligence, to the design and development of infrastructure, these fields all play significant roles in the modern world and continue to create demand for graduates with specialized knowledge and professional skills.
