On June 24, 2026, the School of Engineering and Technology, Walailak University, organized the Wai Kru Ceremony for Academic Year 2026. The activity provided students with an opportunity to express their respect, gratitude, and appreciation toward faculty members who impart knowledge, provide guidance, and support students throughout their academic journey.
The Wai Kru ceremony is one of the most significant traditions in Thai educational institutions. It reflects the values of respect, gratitude, and the meaningful relationship between teachers and students. During the ceremony, students from various programs under the School of Engineering and Technology participated together in an orderly and respectful manner. They presented ceremonial trays decorated with flowers, candles, incense, and other traditional offerings to faculty members as a symbol of their respect and commitment to learning.
The atmosphere throughout the event was filled with warmth, dignity, and memorable moments. Students recited the traditional Wai Kru verses and expressed their determination to become responsible learners, maintain good conduct, devote themselves to their studies, and apply the knowledge they gain for the benefit of themselves, society, and the nation. Faculty members also delivered words of guidance and encouragement to inspire students in both their university studies and daily lives.
The ceremony was not only an expression of respect toward teachers but also an important activity for cultivating morality, ethics, discipline, and responsibility among students. It encouraged them to recognize the value of education and appreciate the important role of teachers as individuals who share knowledge, professional experience, and valuable perspectives that contribute to students’ academic and personal development.
In addition, the Wai Kru ceremony created an opportunity to strengthen relationships among faculty members, staff, senior students, and new students. It promoted a sense of closeness, unity, and belonging within the School of Engineering and Technology community. These positive relationships serve as an important foundation for creating a supportive learning environment in which students can develop their knowledge, skills, confidence, and full potential.
The organization of this activity also reflects the commitment of the School of Engineering and Technology to developing graduates who possess not only professional knowledge and competence but also strong moral values, responsibility, and respect for others. The School recognizes that education should not focus solely on technical expertise. It should also help students develop essential life skills, positive attitudes, social awareness, and the ability to live and work harmoniously with others.
The Student Association of the School of Engineering and Technology would like to express its sincere appreciation to all faculty members, staff, and students who participated in the ceremony and contributed to creating an atmosphere of warmth, respect, and lasting impressions.
It is hoped that the Wai Kru Ceremony for Academic Year 2026 will inspire all students to remain dedicated to their studies, continually improve themselves, uphold gratitude and respect, and develop into knowledgeable, responsible, and ethical graduates who can make meaningful contributions to society in the future.
