Walailak University Engineering Delegation Strengthens Ties with UTM Through MultiFaculty Academic Engagement

April 28, 2025 Johor Bahru, Malaysia

On 28 April 2025, a delegation from the School of Engineering and Technology, Walailak University visited Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) to strengthen academic collaboration and explore research engagement opportunities across multiple engineering disciplines.

The visit began in the morning with a formal meeting hosted by the Faculty of Civil Engineering (FKA). Discussions focused on identifying mutual areas of interest in civil and environmental engineering, with particular emphasis on graduate-level research collaboration, co-supervision models, and academic mobility.

In the afternoon, the delegation was divided into two groups to allow parallel visits to:

  • The Faculty of Chemical and Energy Engineering (FKT), where the team met with the Dean and management to explore research potential in chemical, polymer, and energy-related fields.
  • The Faculty of Electrical Engineering, where delegates toured laboratory facilities and held informal discussions to learn more about UTM’s research strengths in electrical systems, smart technologies, and innovation-driven projects.

The main objective of these visits was to initiate direct dialogue with UTM faculty members, gain insights into available research infrastructure, and lay the groundwork for future collaboration, particularly in the areas of copublication, joint research, and staffstudent exchange.

The delegation expressed sincere appreciation to all UTM faculties involved for their warm hospitality and thoughtful arrangements. This multi-faculty visit reflects Walailak University’s continued commitment to expanding its international partnerships and fostering collaborative innovation in engineering education and research.
