On May 22, 2023, representatives from the School of Engineering and Technology at Walailak University attended a workshop on “Bachelor of Engineering Program Development for Certification of Program Quality Standards from ABET.” The workshop took place at The Landmark Hotel in Bangkok and was organized in collaboration with the Office of the Permanent Secretary for Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation and the Faculty of Engineering at Mahidol University.

The workshop had over 100 participants from 25 institutions. It was part of a project aimed at promoting Thai higher education institutions to achieve accreditation from ABET in Phase 2 (2022-2025). As part of this initiative, 35 courses are expected to be prepared for ABET certification by 2025.
