Two teams from the School of Engineering and Technology, Walailak University, won the thesis for the “Structural Steel Improvement (SSI) for Young Engineers” project.

Congratulations to the students of Civil Engineering Program. In which the advisor is Asst. Prof. Dr. Thanongsak Imjai, whose students have won a thesis for the contest in the project “Structural Steel Improvement (SSI) for Young Engineers or SSI4YE 2019” and have been nominated for the award Large “Best of the Best Project” at the end of the year, funded by a thesis for 25,000 baht per team, totaling 200,000 baht at SSI (Head Office) Prapawit Building The 8 teams that have been selected will receive prizes from the competition proposals and receive a scholarship of 25,000 baht.

1. Burapha University. The work on the study of reinforcing steel plates in the staircases to reduce vibration due to human walking activities.
2. King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi’s work on the study of corrosion behavior and prevention guidelines for steel structures
3. King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi’s works on design, inspection and product shelf development
4. Kasetsart University. The work on the effect of high temperature and temperature reduction rate on the shear bending of steel plates.
5. King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi’s work on the study of the bond strength between concrete and cold-formed steel Inside the steel columns, add concrete and simulate the lateral load using the finite element method.
6. Chiang Mai University. The work on the loss of compressive strength along the axis of the steel columns to fill concrete from lateral load.
7. Walailak University, a work on the innovation of thin-walled steel sheet in reinforcing concrete columns with low compressive strength by compressing the force around later.
8. Walailak University, a work on the behavior of steel beams composed of steel coils for thin flooring In use and extreme conditions

And the team that has been selected to enter the finals of the “Best of The Best Senior Project Award”, there are 4 teams.

1. King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi for design, inspection and product shelf development

2. King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi’s work on the study of the bond strength between concrete and cold-formed steel Inside the steel columns, add concrete and simulate the lateral load using the finite element method.
