Faculty members and students from the Computer Engineering and Artificial Intelligence Program have gained international recognition by winning the IFIA Best Invention Award, along with Gold Medals, at the 2026 IPITEx (International Intellectual Property, Invention, Innovation and Technology Exposition). This achievement reflects the program’s strong capabilities in innovation, technology, and research with practical real-world applications.
The first project to receive a Gold Medal was:
“Life Buoy Launching Device for Drowning Rescue”
A life buoy launching device designed to enhance speed and accuracy in rescuing drowning victims. The device helps reduce risks faced by rescuers while increasing survival chances for victims in water-related emergencies.
This project was developed by Assistant Professor Dr. Asanchaichai Sukkuer, Associate Professor Dr. Pensiri Ekkajit, Associate Professor Dr. Wattanapong Koetthongmee, Mr. Thanapat Chaiyanarong, Mr. Pichaiphusit Theerakul, and Mr. Danich Khaongam.
At the same time, another outstanding project received both a Gold Medal and the Outstanding Award:
“Water Quality Monitoring Using Remote Sensing and Time Series Analysis”
A system for monitoring and assessing water quality using remote sensing technology and time series data analysis. The system supports relevant agencies in water resource surveillance, environmental management planning, and effective prediction of pollution trends.
This project was developed by Assistant Professor Dr. Asanchaichai Sukkuer, Associate Professor Dr. Pensiri Ekkajit, Ms. Nattawan Sae-Eaw, Mr. Worawiriya Nualnok, Ms. Sassapim Sae-Eaw, and Mr. Punnawich Foythong.
This success marks another significant milestone for the Computer Engineering and Artificial Intelligence Program in advancing research and innovation onto the global stage. It reaffirms the role of Thai universities in developing technologies that address societal needs and deliver tangible benefits to humanity. 🚀
