The Chemical Engineering and Pharmaceutical Chemistry Program Hosts OPEN SET: Chemical Engineering and Pharmaceutical Event for Southern Thailand’s Triam Udom Suksa School Students
On February 15, 2025, the Chemical Engineering and Pharmaceutical Chemistry program under the School of Engineering and Technology, Walailak University, organized the OPEN SET: Chemical Engineering and Pharmaceutical event to welcome Grade 10 students from Southern Thailand’s Triam Udom Suksa Schools. The event aimed to introduce students to the field of chemical engineering and pharmaceutical chemistry while providing hands-on experience through laboratory activities.
During the event, students attended educational lectures conducted by expert faculty members, covering fundamental principles of chemical engineering and pharmaceutical chemistry. These sessions helped students gain a deeper understanding of the role of chemical and pharmaceutical engineers in various industries, including petrochemicals, food and pharmaceuticals, and biotechnology. Additionally, students had the opportunity to operate industrial simulation equipment, allowing them to experience real-world engineering processes such as process control systems, chemical analysis instruments, and extraction techniques.
Beyond theoretical and practical learning, students also toured advanced laboratories and interacted with senior students, who shared their experiences about studying in the program and their career paths after graduation. This provided valuable insights for students to plan their future education and career in engineering.
