On January 15, 2025, third-year students from the Chemical and Pharmaceutical Engineering Program, School of Engineering and Technology, Walailak University, participated in a field study on real-world water treatment systems as part of the CPE64-351 Environmental Chemical Engineering course. The students visited the university’s water management system, which plays a crucial role in maintaining environmental quality on campus.
This experiential learning opportunity allowed students to gain a deeper understanding of wastewater management, including primary treatment processes, chemical and biological methods for removing contaminants, and advanced technologies for water quality restoration. In addition, they learned about hazardous waste management, air pollution control, and strategies for minimizing industrial environmental impacts.
During the visit, students engaged in discussions with experts working in the university’s water treatment system, enabling them to grasp real-world pollution challenges and practical solutions. These insights are invaluable for their future careers in chemical engineering, as they can apply their knowledge to real-life environmental problem-solving.
