On Saturday, January 25, 2025, the Civil Engineering Program of the School of Engineering and Technology, Walailak University, organized the “Open SET” event, welcoming 95 tenth-grade students from Triam Udom Suksa School (Southern Campus). The event aimed to promote and introduce the various engineering programs offered at the School of Engineering and Technology, as well as provide insights into the curriculum, teaching methodologies, laboratory facilities, and extracurricular skill-building activities.
The participating students engaged in interactive and educational activities designed to inspire them in the field of modern engineering. They had the opportunity to experience hands-on learning related to the Civil Engineering program, including surveying, concrete mixing, concrete compaction, and building inspection.
This event was led by Associate Professor Dr. Patimaporn Sukmak, Head of the Civil Engineering Program, along with faculty members and staff who guided students through various laboratories showcasing advanced tools and equipment used in engineering education. The demonstrations featured state-of-the-art technology designed to enhance students’ practical engineering skills.
The Open SET initiative not only provided students with a clearer understanding of university-level engineering education and student life at Walailak University but also sparked interest and motivation among young learners aspiring to pursue careers in engineering. The School of Engineering and Technology hopes that this event will deepen students’ understanding of engineering principles and better prepare them for their future studies.
