On Wednesday, November 6, 2024, at 1:00 PM, at Integrated Learning Buildings 1 and 3, the School of Engineering and Technology hosted the “Dean and Academic Advisors Meet Students for Semester 2/2567.” Assoc. Prof. Dr. Montien Sretgigit, Dean of the School of Engineering and Technology, welcomed faculty members and students as part of the first week of the new semester. This activity is held regularly every semester with the aim of ensuring that students can study according to their academic plans, enjoy their learning experience, and participate in various creative activities. It also seeks to foster positive thinking and attitudes, enabling students to effectively solve personal challenges and to present the school’s advancements in various areas.
Participants in this event included faculty members and students from all years across the Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering and Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Computer Engineering and Artificial Intelligence, Petrochemical and Polymer Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering and Robotics programs. After the initial session, students from each program met with their respective faculty members to discuss academic progress, course registration, and other concerns in a friendly and open atmosphere. This interaction allowed for in-depth understanding of individual student needs and feedback. If any issues or obstacles arose, advisors and the school were informed and able to address them promptly, which benefited students by ensuring continuous academic support and assisting in planning and developing a student support system.
This event was organized to strengthen the relationship between students and their academic advisors, encouraging students to adopt positive thinking and effectively manage personal challenges. The opportunity for students to meet with their advisors and engage in informal discussions provided valuable insights into each student’s academic progress through feedback from those who participated. If problems or difficulties arose, advisors and the school were made aware, allowing for timely intervention and assistance. This process was beneficial for monitoring and supporting students, providing a foundation for ongoing support, and informing future development plans for the student support system.
