On Wednesday, June 12, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at Thaiburi Building, Room 1500, the School of Engineering and Technology organized the activity “Dean, Academic Advisors Meet Students, Semester 1/2024”, with Asst. Prof. Dr. Montien Setkit, Dean of the School of Engineering and Technology, giving a welcome speech to faculty and students on the first week of the semester. This activity is held regularly every semester. The aim of this activity is to enable students of the School of Engineering and Technology to study at the university according to their study plan, enjoy their studies, and participate in various activities creatively, have positive thinking and attitudes, and be able to solve their own problems appropriately. It is also to present the progress of the School in various aspects for all engineering students to be aware of, including faculty, research, teaching, and various activities organized by the School and the Student Club.
This activity was attended by lecturers and students from all years of the Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering and Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Computer Engineering and Artificial Intelligence, Petrochemical and Polymer Engineering, and Mechanical and Robotics Engineering programs. It began with an overview of the school by Asst. Prof. Dr. Montien Setkit, Dean of the School of Engineering and Technology, who introduced the new student club working group to the students. At the end of the first activity, students were divided by major to meet with faculty members in the program, who would follow up on teaching and learning results, course registration, and listen to various problems. The friendly atmosphere allowed students to gain in-depth information about each student’s learning, which was derived from the reflections of students who participated in the activity. If any problems or obstacles occurred to the students, the advisors and the school would be notified to help solve the problems at the appropriate time. This would be beneficial to students in the program in monitoring and providing continuous assistance to students, and would be used as information for planning the development of the student care system in the future.
Therefore, activities are organized to strengthen the relationship between students and their academic advisors. This is to encourage students of the faculty to have positive thinking and attitudes, to accept their own problems, and to solve them effectively. In addition, the meeting between the advisors and students and talking in a friendly atmosphere will allow them to gain in-depth information about each student’s learning, which is derived from the reflections of the students who participated in the activities. If any problems or obstacles occur to the students, the advisors and the faculty will be informed to help solve the problems at the appropriate time. This will be beneficial to students in the program in monitoring and providing continuous assistance to students, and will be information for planning the development of the student care and support system in the future.
