Excellent! Civil Engineering students from MU won 3 awards in the Bridge Design and Construction Contest (I3SC’24) in Malaysia.

The School of Engineering and Technology, Walailak University, would like to congratulate Civil Engineering students who won 3 awards in the International Stable and Sustainable Structure Competition 2024 held at University of Malaysia Perlis, Malaysia on June 8, 2024.

The three student teams were able to win the following awards:

1. Champion of I3SC’24 award from SCAT 1 team, team members include Ms. Prapassorn Ritthikan, Mr. Alongkon Prachumrat, Mr. Tayakorn Boonkaew and Mr. Musilhi Samae.

2. Special award WAREG Special Award Top Sustainable Structure from team GOAT. Team members include Mr. Azron Mali, Mr. Muhammad Nasri Khetnakhon, Mr. Fizal Haidar Mama, Mr. Nitassin Nide and Ms. Ainul Maddiya Walong.

And 3. Special award JPS Special Award Supreme Aesthetic Design from SCAT team 2, team members are Ms. Thipphaphon Thongdet, Mr. Wanwidan Waeyuso, Mr. Adam Jeha and Mr. Kongdet Buanoi.

All three teams have Associate Professor Dr. Thanongsak Imjai, a lecturer in the Civil Engineering Program, School of Engineering and Technology, as their advisor.

The International Stable and Sustainable Structure Competition 2024 or I3SC is a platform for civil engineering students from many countries to showcase their abilities in designing and building wooden bridge structures that are stable and sustainable. The objective of the competition is to promote and support the invention of innovations and technologies that can be used in the development of environmentally friendly and sustainable infrastructure in the future. This year, there are 22 teams from 3 countries participating in the competition: Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia.

Associate Professor Dr. Tanongsak Imjai revealed that as an advisor, he is very proud and delighted that our students have had the opportunity to showcase their abilities and receive awards in this international competition. Students will receive many benefits from participating in the competition, such as developing professional skills, teamwork, problem-solving, and creative analytical thinking. The students’ creative works are not only stable and sustainable, but can also be applied to develop environmentally friendly and sustainable infrastructure, which will have a positive effect on the future development of cities and communities.
