On June 19, 2024, at 5:00 PM, in Classroom 1310, the Electrical Engineering Program at Walailak University organized the “Tech Line Revelation” activity as part of their mentorship initiative. The primary objectives of this event were:
- To foster unity among first-year students and between first-year students and their seniors.
- To ensure first-year students have senior mentors to guide them in their studies and daily life.
- To motivate students by exposing them to real-world engineering work through field trips and integrating practical experiences with classroom learning.
The Electrical Engineering Program has implemented a mentorship system inspired by the house system from the Harry Potter series. This system encourages senior students to actively participate in mentoring their juniors. The program aims to reduce the number of students unable to graduate within four years and to decrease dropout rates.
The program’s goals include reducing dropout rates due to academic performance, improving students’ grades, and ensuring that students complete their studies according to their academic plans while enjoying their educational journey.
To achieve these goals, the Electrical Engineering Program launched the “New Chip on Board” initiative, designed to strengthen relationships between students across different years, reduce divisions, and promote positive thinking and attitudes among students. This initiative encourages students to accept and effectively address their challenges. The informal interactions between seniors and juniors during this event help students gain in-depth insights into both academic and daily life aspects, fostering a supportive and friendly environment for learning and personal growth.
