On June 19, 2024, at the Thai Buri Building, 1500-seat hall, the Student Club of the School of Engineering and Technology organized the Teacher Appreciation Ceremony for the academic year 2024. The event was held to express gratitude, respect, and remembrance for the educators who impart knowledge. Representatives from all programs participated in the ceremony, which also aimed to foster good relationships between faculty members and students within the school.
Teacher Appreciation, or “Wai Kru,” is a tradition where students show respect and heartfelt acknowledgment to their teachers, recognizing them as virtuous and knowledgeable individuals. Students, as inheritors of academic legacy, collectively pledge to receive and absorb the teachings with diligence, perseverance, and patience to achieve their educational goals.
The Wai Kru ceremony is a longstanding Thai tradition, showcasing gratitude towards teachers. It is an act of formally presenting oneself as a disciple to a teacher, symbolizing a direct acceptance of mentorship and guidance.
