On June 20, 2024, the Dean, Vice Deans, faculty members, and academic staff from the School of Engineering and Technology, Walailak University, participated in the “Walailak to School” outreach program at Phetcharik Municipal Demonstration School. Organized by the University’s Public Relations Office, the event aimed to enhance the university’s image, raise awareness and understanding of its programs, and strengthen relationships between the school and the university.
The event was honored by the presence of Professor Dr. Sombat Thamrongthanyawong, Acting President of Walailak University, along with university executives, faculty, staff, and students. They were warmly welcomed by Dr. Kanop Ketchart, Mayor of Nakhon Sri Thammarat Municipality, and Dr. Suchart Eiadwong, Director of Phetcharik Municipal Demonstration School. The event saw active participation from 380 students from grades 10-12, along with their teachers.
The School of Engineering and Technology offers six graduate programs: Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering and Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Computer Engineering and Artificial Intelligence, Civil Engineering, Petrochemical and Polymer Engineering, and Mechanical and Robotics Engineering.
Proactive public relations efforts are essential as they help make these programs known to students, thereby providing them with more options for further studies. These activities ensure that interested students receive accurate information regarding the curriculum, extracurricular activities, and potential career paths post-graduation. The event included lectures from university faculty and alumni of the school who are currently enrolled in these programs.
It is anticipated that such initiatives will increase the number of applicants to these programs. By promoting these courses, the university aims to make them more widely known and familiar to students, thereby motivating them to pursue their studies in the School of Engineering and Technology.
